Woven in Belgium
History: Blason Norfolk Belgian chenille tapestry features the family crest of the Norfolk family of Europe. The Norfolk name has been part of recorded noble history since they were originally seated at the Lords of Manor in Cheshire. Family members first immigrated to the new world in the mid 17th century during the great migration from Europe. There, they began their lives on the eastern seaboard in Newfoundland, Maine, the Virginia's, the Carolina's and the barrier islands. As with most ancient families, their coat of arms uses the classic symbols of power and strength, including the rearing horse and lion that frame either side of the design. In the center of the coat of arms are knights’ helmets and the detailed “Norfolk Crest” design on the shield.
